If you live on the East coast, chances are you have heard of Hershey, Pennsylvania. Coined as “the sweetest place on Earth” it is no wonder why kids and adults enjoy the thought of a chocolate theme park. It has been years since I have visited Hershey Park myself, but this year we are planning on taking our daughters to experience Hershey, PA as a family. Based on friends and family recommendations, Hershey Park has a ton of fun, family friendly activities that children of any age can enjoy. Since I was older when I visited the park, there really were no restrictions for me, but with younger children I worried there wouldn’t be enough activities to keep them entertained.
My friends have actually recommended Hershey PA over other theme parks in the area for younger children. As a matter of fact, all my friends who have children the same age as mine have said that if they had to travel to one theme park and spend an hour and a half in the car (which is the time it takes to get from NYC to Hershey, PA) Hershey Park is the best place to go. Since I have not been there with children, I was naive to all they offered for younger children, but when I went as an older child, I had a blast. I remember meeting some fun characters and experiencing fun rides and attractions with my friends.
The school year is hectic for us – having my daughter in school for the first time and my hubby as a teacher. We get tied up in our daily lives and often get lost in a routine. This summer we want to reconnect as a family and show our girls new experiences. With so many things to do at Hershey, including concerts, rides, and even dining, there is something for everyone at every age at Hershey Park. Although I have never considered it myself, they even have a Hershey Camping Resort where your family can experience some outdoor adventures!
If you are on the east coast and looking for a fun, family adventure, be sure to consider Hershey Park. There will be a Twitter party for Hershey, PA on Thursday May 16, 2013, so be sure to join in the fun. More details to follow!
