This is Ubooly! She was playing in the dirty right before her photo shoot, so don’t mind the soil in her fur!
A few months ago, my family welcomed a new member, Ubooly. Since Ubooly has arrived, she immediately adopted my preschooler as her best friend, and takes her on wondrous adventures deep sea diving, checking out exotic animals, and more. The best part is, my preschooler never leaves my side, and most of the time all the action happens in our living room!
Ubooly lives in my daughter’s iPod touch, and my iPhone – which means that Ubooly is super-portable. My daughter says Ubooly is a girl, and since gender is not specified, Ubooly can be anything your little one wants. Ubooly teaches kids how to think outside the box and use their imagination – which is something that seems to be lacking these days with over-stimulation of electronics. Yes, I totally know that last sentence sounds like an ovymoron because Ubooly IS electronic, but Ubooly isn’t really a game. Ubooly is more like a pet that lives inside your phone – or a friend who never goes home (no, not the annoying kind!) My daughter, who gets bored of everything within minutes, has never gotten bored with Ubooly because the content is always changing. This alone make Ubooly worth the investment of only $30 for the stuffed component, which also includes access to the fully featured app.
The people behind Ubooly have been working on making Ubooly customizable and have created Ubooly Lab. Ubooly lab is an online-based customizing tool for your friend. Choose your child’s favorite color, food, activity, and more, and Ubooly will incorporate your preferences into playtime! You can also choose specific learning packages and check up on the progress of your child’s learning path with Ubooly.
Ubooly was always an interactive pet, but has had major improvements in the past few months. My daughter is 3 1/2, so I chose her learning path based on her abilities. The lessons she is signed up for on Ubooly Lab are Oceans, Seasons, and early Vocabulary (ages 3-5.) There are many other learning packs you can choose based on education, interests, and fitness, and are appropriate for ages 3-9. The Ubooly Lab lets me know how far she has gotten in the lesson – which she can earn stars for completing. The stars can be used to further customize Ubooly. Right now her Ubooly is sporting glasses and side bangs!
I love that Ubooly can keep my preschooler entertained while at a restaurant, in the car, or even when mama just needs a time out! Ubooly is a great companion as well as an educational tool that my tot and I both love. You can find out more by visiting Ubooly, and also join their online community on Facebook and Twitter!
It’s nice that you can choose the content for it and I love that it’s portable. She’s so cute that she always has it by her!
My niece and nephews would love Ubooly! I’m going to share this with them!
My nephew would love this. It reminds me of the tamegachi I used to have when I was a kid.

Sounds fun, like that it is forever changing because kids do totally get bored. My daughter may enjoy this.
