We just finished our first week of homeschool in NYC after having to adjust our insanely busy schedules to accommodate a shelter in order due to Covid-19. While our lives have been turned upside down, I’m thankful to have my entire family home with me while we reclaim our schedules and take it day by day. The kids have adjusted surprisingly well to their new school schedules, and love being able to wake up at their leisure to complete their daily activities. While my anxiety is through the roof with the uncertainty surrounding us regarding when our lives will return to some semblance of “normal,” I know I need to keep my kids on routine and try to make this experience as positive as possible for them. Thankfully, we got our hands on some fun family-oriented toys and activities that I will be sharing with you here. Much of the US can’t leave their houses except to receive necessities and medical care, but you can still order and properly sanitize packages that do arrive to your home.
One of our all-time favorite companies is Playmobil. All my kids thoroughly enjoy each set they’ve received, and they usually work well together when we receive Playmobil items for review. Their latest set of toys is both new and nostalgic for the entire family! We received The Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine, Scooby & Shaggy with Ghost, and one Scooby-Doo Mystery Figures package with a surprise iconic villain. I’m not sure if my husband or kids were more excited about this fun package from Playmobil, but they all sat on the rug together while my husband described some memorable quotes and moments from the original Scooby-Doo series. Watching my family play together on a lazy afternoon after completing all their school work for the day probably brought more joy to me than anything else in this moment.
The main star of the show is the Playmobil Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine because not only is it a great size and vibrant, but it has all the bells and whistles you would expect from Playmobil products, adding to its realism and making kids feel like they are part of the show!
