Taking A Time Out for Caregivers #ThanksProject {$50 SpaFinder Giveaway!}

At some point many of us may find ourselves as a caregiver. Whether you are a parent taking care of your kids, or a daughter or son taking care of your parents. Some people may even be in that middle place where you have to care for both, their kids and their parents. My husband and I knew that eventually our parents would need more frequent help, so last year we decided it was time to move out of the city and closer to them. Both sets of parents live within 10 minutes of each other so living in between then was ideal. Within a few months of looking we found the house we can raise our young family in while also being close to our older family members. Not having to worry about a highway separating us in the event of an emergency has lifted a weight from both of us.

November is national Caregiver Awareness month. There are approximately 42 million people, most of which are women who take on the role of caregiver. The majority is between 40-60 and are at risk of having their own health compromised while they care for loved ones. Personal time has to be taken from time to time for caregivers to look after their own well being. Perhaps something as simple as a haircut, massage, or even coffee with friends can help these caregivers take a step back and look after their own well being as well.
