My girls both look forward to the toilet paper ending because they like to craft with the tubes. The only problem is we go through A LOT of toilet paper and we end up with way more toilet paper tubes than they can use. I see the tubes adding up in the garbage and I wonder about all the waste. While making a craft out of the tube is a great way to teach about recycling, I think we need to take the lesson a step further and teach kids about reducing waste, because really, how many toilet paper tube crafts do we need?
Did you know that each year there are 17 billion toilet paper tubes tossed in the trash? With Earth Day just ahead on April 22nd, it’s time to think globally and get kids in on the action by teaching them ways to reduce waste. I think our world has come a long way and we can finally toss the tube by switching to Scott® Tube-Free toilet paper. I know what you might be thinking- ‘what kind of toilet paper would I be getting if it doesn’t have a tube?’ Luckily Scott® Brand is keeping their cushiony soft toilet paper the same, and it’s even available at my favorite shopping site- Amazon. I’m a huge Subscribe & Save fan because it’s SO convenient to shop for everything I need and have it arrive at my doorstep. I get a 15% discount for having 5 items or more in my subscription and some products have additional savings coupons like the $2.00 coupon available for Scott® Tube-Free Toilet Paper.
What are some ways you are teaching your kids about reducing waste this April? Our schools support Earth Day by teaching the importance of making a difference in the world around them by taking small steps to reduce, reuse, and recycle. They can start by making small changes in their own homes.
Be sure to add Scott® Brand Tube-free toilet paper to your Subscribe & Save account on Amazon today.
