We had a Fijit Party!

My niece and nephew spend a significant amount of time at my home, so much that they even has a few friends in my neighborhood. Now that it is summer time and school is out, they can stay over for days at a time. My house is always full of children because apparently I have the “fun house.” Thanks to my hubby who set up a basement full of toys and gaming consoles (I think those are for the big kids, but the little ones have a great time with it too!)

The day I received the email about hosting a Fijit Party, I KNEW my niece would love to test them out. We applied and were overjoyed when we were accepted into the campaign. When the party package arrived, it was time to plan a girl’s day with all her friends from the neighborhood. Although the party was only for 6 girls, we couldn’t leave anyone out so we invited all of the girls. Only 7 were able to make it, but the girls still had a blast. I tried my best to coordinate with my neighbors to see what dates would work best for them and their daughters. My nephew was a little upset that he couldn’t join us for this celebration – but I promised him I would do something special just for him!

The theme of the party was a “daytime slumber party” so all the girls were asked to wear their pjs. I told the moms exactly what the play date would be about and the activities we had planned. We collaborated on ideas for games to play because one lucky girl was going to win a Fijit of her own to take home.

The package from Mom Central included fun accessories for the little girls to play dress up with, but one of the moms was nice enough to bring over an entire trunk of dress up clothes for the little girls. The age ranges of the girls was 6-8, and we let my own daughter, who is only 2, stay for the festivities. It was fun watching the little girls act like mini divas with their feather boas and headbands that were provided.

There are 4 Fijits in the Fijit family, Willa, Sage, Serafina, and Logan. Their material is unlike anything I have felt before. The head is hard but the body is soft silicone. Initially, it is difficult to get the Fijit to understand what you are saying. You have to be clear when you speak to your Fijit, otherwise it does not understand what you are saying. They are totally interactive with children and when they respond the face lights up! (So does your little girl’s!)

The girls had a blast lipsynching to the music that was provided with the microphone. They took turns familiarizing themselves with Sage (our demo Fijit) and I explained to them that one little girl would be able to win a Fijit (Willa) to take home with them. (To be totally honest, it ached me that I could only give 1 Fijit away because all the little girls were so happy to play with Sage.) Everyone walked away with a goodie bag full of dress up accessories and a coupon good for free shipping of any Fijit!

The girls had a great time playing with their new friend Fijit. 2 of the girls have a birthday coming up and their moms promised to get them a Fijit, while another little girl was promised one for the holidays. I really thought that the girls who did not win the Fijit would have left upset, but they all said they had a ton of fun at this play date.

Would I recommend the Fijit? OF COURSE! My little girl had a blast playing with the Fijit and I will be getting her one for Christmas. Here are some details on the Fijit (from Amazon):
