Every year I make candy-less Easter baskets for the kids because I know if I fill baskets with candy they will eat it all at once! They look forward to their baskets, despite the lack of candy, because it gives them a little preview of the summer. I fill their baskets with new swimsuits, swim shoes, summer shoes, sometimes a beach towel, and some crafts or toys. I tend to overdo it each year- my husband has to remind me that it’s not Christmas, but I truly enjoy the kids relishing in all their new items, which I would have purchased for them anyway since I fill the baskets with their summer essentials.
This year I’ve stuck with the summer essentials Easter basket theme and added some items I know they will love. My boy is getting a new bath toy, some headphones for his tablet, and summer clothes. My girls will also be getting new headphones, summer clothing, some new Project MC2 kits, and of course an LOL Surprise Confetti Pop. It seems Project MC 2 is all the rage lately, as this is what the girls ask for during birthdays and holidays. When we shop for their friend’s birthdays, Project MC2 is a gift we can never go wrong with. And to keep in the theme of Easter surprise eggs, I think the LOL Surprise dolls fit right with the theme, without the added sugar! Who isn’t looking for Confetti Pop these days!?
My 6 year old will LOVE the Edible Eyeshadow and Lava Lip gloss by Project MC2, she’s a true diva and loves makeup, while my 8 year old will have a great time with the Lava Experiment. The girls will be opening their baskets for Greek Easter, which falls just 1 week after Catholic Easter.
