Finding age appropriate apps for iOS devices isn’t really that difficult, but finding educational apps that actually hold my daughters’ attention can sometimes be a challenge. When I found out about Lola’s World, I was happy that it was something both my girls would be able to play, since it has an age range of 2-6 and can be customized based on the age of the child. The best part is, I can monitor their progress with the included progress tracker.
Lola’s World can be downloaded for free which includes limited content for a 3 year old, but when you upgrade to the full version, you can order a 1 month or 3 month subscription ($1.99 or $3.99 respectively.) The subscription includes personalization with toys, clothes, food, and even the avatar your child will play with. With the subscription, you will receive a progress report monthly. Every two weeks, the app is updated to bring new mini games, islands, clothes, and toys.
What I love about the app is the age appropriate-ness. My daughter’s can’t yet read, so having the app explain what they are suppose to do in each section is a great feature. The educational aspects include early math skills by developing problem solving, puzzles, measurements, patterns, shape sorting, and more. With each task that is completed, your child will earn coins which can be redeemed for various items in the shop which they can personalize their character with.
Lola’s World can provide hours of fun while also fostering learning and mathematics skills. This is one app you don’t want to pass up, so be sure to check it out at the App Store on your iPad. I love that I can keep it on my iPhone to keep my daughters happy when I bring them along on doctor’s appointments.
