With so much technology surrounding our children these days, I’ve seen a lot of parents question the appropriate age to get a cell phone to their children. My children are still too young, although my oldest will be entering full time school this year. It did cross my mind to get her a cheap mobile phone and teach her to call me if there is an emergency, but at her age, she won’t be left alone long enough to require a cell phone.
If you are contemplating getting a cell phone for your child this school year, consider an inexpensive plan such as Republic Wireless. At only $19 a month for unlimited data, talk, and text for the $199 Motorola DEFY XT Smartphone, it’s a great price for peace of mind.
I didn’t even know this until now, but the average American spends more on their monthly cellphone bill than on groceries! Why pay more for cell phone service when you don’t have to? Oh,and the best part is that you aren’t bound to a contract when you sign up with Republic Wireless. So, you get Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data without limits, a contract, or overages. What are you waiting for?
You might be wondering how they can offer so much for so little. Well, they do something called Hybrid Wi-Fi Calling where you use Wi-Fi for calls, texts, and data, but you also have full cellular capabilities.
Check out the features of the Motorola DEFY XT Smartphone:
Front-facing VGA Webcam
Rear-facing camera with auto focus/LED Flash, 4x digital zoom
Android operating system with wi-fi and Sprint® 3G Coverage with dual-band reception
Over 450,000 Apps through Google Play™

I will definitely be checking to see if Republic Wireless is available in our area.
My two oldest have been asking for cell phones and this would be a great price to pay without hiking up our cell phone bill.
