We really don’t use convenience foods in my home with the exception of pastas and snacks. When I do use convenience foods, ingredients are key to what I purchase and will allow my family to eat. There are a few no-no ingredients that aren’t allowed in my home, including preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, food dyes, artificial flavors, and additives. It can be difficult to stay away from some things, especially when it comes to sweet treats, but we buy “clean” foods as much as we can and limit the sweets to fresh fruit and yogurt.

What if I told you that you can buy prepackaged convenience foods and not have to worry about those awful ingredients? Then I guess we might be talking about Good Food Made Simple. When I found out what the company stood for, I was interested. Some companies play on the nativity of people and claim “all natural” when their product is anything but. When I received a package from Good Food Made Simple with some prepackaged convenience foods, I took my usual thinking stance that I take in the grocery store and started reading labels on everything they sent. A few boxes of frozen mac and cheese, some delicious-sounding breakfast burritos, oatmeal, and even prepackaged egg parties that would go great on top of a breakfast muffin with Canadian bacon and cheese (my hubby’s favorite!)

I was surprised to see that the ingredient list was readable and included things I would use myself. Real foods, simple ingredients, spices from nature. All things I would use in my own cooking. I call this clean eating. Foods that aren’t overly processed and edible without masking them with artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives. I guess you are wondering how the food tastes, since some prepackaged foods are overly salted, sugared, or unflavored. The first thing I tried was an egg white breakfast burrito. I was happy to say that it tasted just like something I would make at home; well seasoned, full of flavor, and delicious. The real test was having my husband and kids try out the food from Good Food Made Simple. My daughter’s shared half a box of macaroni and cheese. One box makes two servings and they are packaged individually so they are easy to thaw, warm up, and serve. The girls didn’t skip a beat. They loved the macaroni and cheese, and I was happy that it didn’t contain any preservatives!

We’ve had the oatmeal before, and it is a hit with both the kids and adults in our house. I haven’t tried the other products – actually, I didn’t even know they existed. However, now that I do know, I will definitely be looking for them in my local grocery store.
It is super refreshing when the ingredients are obvious and natural ones. Good to know this is a company to look for.
I love that there are more healthy quick foods on the market and this brand look great!
I would love to be able to buy prepackaged foods that are actually good for me and my family. The egg burrito looks great!
Omgosh this is why I hate living inthe country sometimes. No where carries this brand and I have to drive almost 3 hrs to get to it. So sad, I miss them.
These sound like great products! I’d love to try them out.
Those look delicious and so filling!
ohhh this brand looks like it gives interesting options! yumms!!
I’d love a quick breakfast burrito that was made with healthy ingredients.
I’ll look to see if these products are available at my super market. I have been more conscience of the ingredients in our meals and have been skipping the processed foods.
I have never heard of this brand. We are the same way, we don’t do processed foods and instead make everything from scratch. But sometimes you just wish you could do something quick.
My family is just starting our journey with cleaner eating and I had no idea you could get pre-made healthy items like this. It definitely makes it easier to stick with the plan on hectic days!
I have never tried this brand before. It’s nice to see there are some good clean eating convenience foods out there.
I have been on a burrito kick lately. 🙂
I need to look for these for my family. Eating natural is something that is very important to me.
That breakfast burrito looks super yummy. I’m all about natural and easy!
We don’t purchase many prepackaged foods thanks to allergies, and the typically chemical laden ingredients. It is nice to see that a brand is using real ingredients.
I have not seen these in the store but I definitely want to try them.
I haven’t noticed these but went to the website and they are in my state (in 3 different stores!) so I’ll definitely be looking for them on my next shopping trip. The oatmeal is something I really want to try
I think that with products like these I’d be more likely to eat a healthy breakfast. Those egg white patties would be perfect for making a delicious breakfast sandwich for mornings that we’re busy.
Oh my, that looks so good! I’ll definitely have to look out for these on my next trip to the grocery store!
These sound like good food with natural ingredients. I’ll have to check these out!
It’s nice to see that not all convenience foods are unhealthy these days.
Those burritos look tasty! I’m learning a lot about clean eating and hoping to someday move towards it.
