Since the time I met him, my hubby has been quite the whiskey connoisseur. He’s always loved his whiskey on the rocks at the end of a busy week, or as a social drink when out with friends. He’s picky about his whiskey and you won’t find him drinking just any amber-colored single malt whiskey. For every birthday or holiday, I know the one thing he enjoys is a nice bottle of high end whiskey. Unfortunately it is not always possible to spend top dollar on a drink, so I try to find other options when it comes finding the perfect whiskey.
My hubby has received an early Father’s Day gift this year, Speyburn 10 year old single malt whiskey. I would have loved to surprise him with this gift, but he took one for the team in order to bring you this review! Retailing at $30, Speyburn is an affordable and high quality whiskey that any whiskey connoisseur can appreciate. My husband said that it is light in flavor when compared to his typical whiskey brand, but he also said he enjoyed Speyburn just as much. When he drinks other whiskeys, he tends to water them down a bit and drinks them with ice, but with Speyburn whiskey, he simply keeps the bottle chilled and doesn’t have to do anything to make it palatable. I don’t drink whiskey – so I can’t tell you my thoughts on it… It’s just not for my tastebuds!
Born in the Highlands of Scotland, Speyburn is the only distillery to use water from the Granty Burn, a tributary of the River Spey famed for its purity and its world-class salmon fishing. This method gives Speyburn 10 year old its distinctive fruity character with hints of toffee and butterscotch, and beautiful pale gold and amber hue.
This Father’s Day, be sure to stop by the liquor store and pick something up for dad that he really wants – a time out for daddy with Speyburn 10 year old single-malt whiskey!
I bet that would be good in recipes!
My Dad or hubby aren’t drinkers, but like Lyda, I bet it would be good in recipes. 🙂
Now this would be something my dad would like.
hmmmm Malt whisky I used to bartend and I had several customers that drank whiskey
We don’t drink, but Hubs probably wishes he did. 😉 He’s been covered in baby and rambunctious toddler for a couple of hours.

To heck with dad, I’d keep that for myself. (my dad doesn’t drink & my ex needs no encouragement in that area)
Bleh, my husband and I can’t do whiskey (or beer for that matter), but I think my oldest brother and one of my sisters would like this. 🙂

Last year I got my husband a really good one from Japan.
