Halloween is almost here!!! I can’t wait! October is always full of fun autumn activities. Every weekend we have some Halloween event, so that means my little girls get full use of their costumes each year. We generally have costumes ready to go by the end of September, because just like this year, some events start early. Boo at the Zoo just started at the Bronx Zoo this weekend, where they invite kids to dress up, take part in their Halloween parade, participate in Halloween crafts, and even go trick or treating at the various concierge desks.
Just because my infant is too young to trick or treat doesn’t mean that she won’t be dressed up. For both my girls, their costumes have to be functional as well as convenient. Both girls have to be able to fit in their car seats with their costumes so that we aren’t going through three costume changes for each event. My toddler’s costume can be worn on top of warmer clothes so that if we have a cold month, she doesn’t have to cover up her costume with a jacket. My infant, on the other hand, wears her costume as a coverall. I made sure that whatever she was going to wear would be as warm as it is comfortable, and let’s not forget adorable!
The theme this year is cats! My toddler is beyond obsessed with cats, so I let her pick out two costumes this year. One for herself and one for her sister. Finding infant cat costumes wasn’t too hard, but finding the one that fit my list of criteria was a bit tricky. My little one received her costume from BuyCostumes.com and although she is 5 months old, my little chunker is already in 9-12 month clothing. Her costume came in a range of 6-12 months and it fit her perfectly. I just put a little black hat under the hood to keep her ears extra warm and her hair in order (she has A LOT of hair!0 She remained warm and comfortable at this past weekend’s event, plus she got a ton of compliments. She really is the cutest tabby on the block!
