Making baby food is part of our everyday routine. With both my girls, I made homemade baby food with only the best, organic ingredients and none of the other additives of preservatives baby food manufacturers include in their “all natural” food jars. With my oldest daughter, the process of baby food making seemed to be an all day task. Since I was working, I would have to make weekly batches on the weekend, then freeze and store. The process hasn’t changed much with baby #2, but it definitely has become much simpler.
With so many baby food makers on the market, it’s hard to choose the right one for your needs. Let me tell you about my previous routine: I would head over to Whole Foods, pick up some veggies, fruits, and meats. When I would come home I would cook all the fruits and veggies in a basket steamer, boil the meats, and then send them off to the food processor. Not all the foods cooked at the same time, since space in the basket steamer was limited, and since I used the stovetop for this entire task I was limited on space. You can also imagine cleanup time- pots, pans, kitchen gadgets, cutting boards (because you don’t use the same cutting board for raw meat and then veggies) veggie peelers, I can go on. So, what I needed was a one pot method that would quickly and easily cook and blend baby food
Nuk just rolled out their Freshfoods Cook-n-Blend Baby Food Maker where you can make all your baby food in just 2 steps! I should clarify – the Freshfoods maker doesn’t clean, peel, or chop – you are on your own for that, but it does cook and blend baby food in one place, which cuts down on time and mess. Any mom can appreciate that!
One of my favorite features of the Nuk Freshfoods baby food maker is that it has a double basket – so you can cook two different foods at the same time, and they don’t have to sit in the same basket! This is great when you are making a meal and snack at the same time. Since the Freshfoods system gently steams your baby’s meals, you can be assured that vitamins and minerals remain intact. With a large capacity 32oz bowl, you can make up to 4 meals at once. Everything but the machine is dishwasher safe, so cleanup is a cinch!

Homemade Butternush Squash for Baby – Freeze it and you can thaw out individual 1 oz portions for meals
A recipe book by Annabel Karmel is included, as well as a bonus smoothie blade. The entire family can enjoy fun concoctions you make with the Freshfoods system! You can learn more by visiting NUK-USA and connecting with Nuk on Facebook. The system retails at $99.99, but you can snag $20 off with this online coupon for a limited time, so order yours soon!
