Weekend dinners with the family are typically thought and and thoroughly prepared for – in a “normal” family. In my family, weekend dinners are thrown together, hodgepodge meals that always come out great and always accompanied by great company and lots of quirky family members. I almost feel bad for my mom and mother in law, who hold the burden of cooking for my hubby and our small family each weekend, but I’m almost positive they enjoy the company and watching the girls grow up!
This weekend I decided to give the moms a break and take them out to Red Lobster. My dad always sees commercials and begs my mom to go, but with the closest one being about 30 miles away she usually scoffs at him. I was never a seafood type of girl, and then my tastebuds changed. I’m still very picky about seafood but I do love shrimp and lobster. With Lobsterfest in full swing, I figured this would be a great time to have a family dinner out and have some food everyone in the family can enjoy. Lobsterfest is celebrating their 30th birthday from now until April 14, 2013. New and classic lobster entrees are being features, such as the new Wood-Grilled Lobster & Tacos, and their New Main Lobster & Shimp Trio with mac n cheese in white cheddar and bacon sauce. Are you drooling yet? Then there is the Lobster Lover’s Dream, a classic menu item consisting of roasted lobster tails served over lobster and shrimp linguini alfredo.

We don’t eat at Red Lobster often, but we do enjoy it when we do! I really like their Coconut Shrimp, and that’s what I usually order when we eat there.
