Yesterday we celebrated my younger son’s 3rd birthday. As expected his 4-year old brother was somewhat jealous of all the beautifully wrapped packages sitting there just waiting to be opened. Thankfully, my parents always buy gifts for both of the boys for each birthday, so they both have a few new toys to open. I also had something for him to open….a Laser Pegs 6 in 1 Lighted Construction Set.
This toy is for ages 5 and up so my husband sat down with my son so they could play together. My son didn’t need much help, but it was nice seeing the two of them playing together. “This is fun!” he exclaimed. The set comes with a triangular power base that contains a button to push to make the whole construction light up, and it cycles through 3 different light settings. And each piece lights up a different color. As you add pieces, each piece feeds the next piece a low voltage current, illuminating your construction. The packaging and instructions show examples of different creations you can make including a Star Shuttle Craft, an Alien Bug, and a Rattlesnake (to just name a few). One very nice feature of the Laser Pegs 6 in 1 Lighted Construction Set is that it’s compatible with other major construction kits. I always enjoy seeing my kids play with creative toys. They love action figures, so building and construction is always a nice change of pace in my household. My 8 month old was even intrigued. She’s crawling now so she was on the floor watching them play. Every time they pushed the button to illuminate their creations she squealed with delight!
Laser Pegs are available exclusively at Target and come in a variety of kit sizes.
Those are pretty cool! And since it’s getting dark earlier now, they’ll be fun to play with before bedtime!
These are awesome!! My kids love toys that light up and these would be great.
That is so much cooler than it looked in the package.
Oh those are so neat looking, what a cool idea.
What a great gift for him.
How clever. I’ve never seen anything like it. My kids would love playing with these in the dark!
That would be so much fun to do at night time and then when you have your creation assembled turn the lights out.
