I know it seems taboo- but I love my wine chilled. Whether it is red, white, or rose, I feel that when it is chilled, the true personality of the wine comes out. When I heard about the Ravi Wine Chiller, I knew I HAD to try it out. Most of my friends are ok with warm wine, so I liked the idea that the entire bottle of wine did not have to be chilled – so everyone could enjoy it their way.
The most difficult aspect of trying out the Ravi was taking it apart to clean it. After cleaning it, the Ravi sits in the freezer until you are ready to use it. You pop the Ravi on your favorite bottle of wine and the liquid flows through the Ravi into your glass. My misconception: I thought the Ravi would make my wine ice cold. It didn’t, but ice cold wine doesn’t have much of a flavor anyway. Slightly chilled is the best way to experience all the flavors within the wine, and the Ravi does just that.

I reviewed the Ravi with a few friends over for Ladies Night. I thought it would be interesting to get everyone’s perspective on this cool little gadget. Everyone agreed that it is great for picnics or when you are pulling a bottle of wine out of the cabinet that will not have enough time to be chilled before it is opened. The best part about the Ravi is that wine is no longer watered down by melted ice cubes! This is definitely a must have if you are a wine drinker.
