When it comes to children learning, I’m a big believer in play. You will often hear my girls groaning when I take away their iPads and tell them they HAVE to play with each other or their toys. After all, we have a houseful of toys and if they will be taking up space, then they will be played with. My girls will pout for the first few minutes but it’s not long before I see magic taking place. They create scenarios together through pretend play. They take on new roles and get wrapped up in a new world created solely by their imaginations. They bond as sisters, and they take turns being who they want to be. I’m always amazed that despite their almost 3 year difference and varied cognitive abilities, they manage to end up on the same page and work with each other.
