I love the summer. Barbecues, friends, family and everything the summer is all about. I love watching my daughter play with her cousins and enjoy long summer evenings just being a kid. I guess I’m a little selfish too, because when she is having fun with her cousins, that means that the mamas can have some time to enjoy a refreshing glass of chilled wine. Yes, that’s what summer is all about!
Whether it is the middle of winter or the hot days of summer, my wine preferences generally stay the same. I like light-bodied, crisp, refreshing wines. I always like my wine to be chilled, and I don’t like a harsh aftertaste. I’m no wine connoisseur but I know what I like and what tastes good. I like to try new things, but always find myself coming back to a Moscato because it is light and fruity.
This past Fourth of July, I brought Refresh wines to the party. It was my first time trying Turning leaf, so I wasn’t sure what to expect and hoped it would be something that everyone would like. Since I prefer white wines, I decided to try the Turning Leaf Crisp White, although the Red Moscato was calling my name. I’ve never tried a Red Moscato, so it sounded new and exotic to me and the other girls who also loved a White Moscato. The Crisp White was just that. Crisp, refreshing, fruity, and slightly bubbly. I don’t generally like bubbly wine, but this was not too bad and was quite enjoyable.
The Red Moscato received many compliments that evening. I think I found my new favorite, and many of the guests who tried it also said it was one of the best Moscato wines they had tasted. Turning Leaf wines were a hit at the party, and will definitely be on our list again! There are many wines in the Turning Leaf Vineyards family to try and you can check them all out by visiting and connecting with them on Facebook.
I wish my blogging BFF lived a little closer so we can enjoy a Red Moscato Turning Leave Refresh wine together, but since Brandy from Newly Crunchy Mama of 3 lives too far, the folks over at Turning Leaf will be sending her a gift pack so she can try it out as well!
