After the Fast 5 portion of the plan, Nutrisystem changes the calorie count to a higher number (1,800 per day under my plan). The reason for this is to keep you at a number that will allow you to sustain the weight loss over a longer period of time. The key to losing weight is to burn more calories than you take in, so each Nutrisystem plan is set up to do this (different plans within Nutrisystem use different numbers).
After spending week 1 at 1000 calories per day, the extra 800 calories felt great. I almost felt as if I was overeating again, which made me feel as if I wasn’t dieting anymore. Throughout the week, I kept up with the plan, drank plenty of water and tried to walk a little more than I used to. The toughest part of the week was on Sunday, when I had to attend a family BBQ. I was worried about how I would react, since like most people I love BBQ’s and tend to eat a bit too much when I’m at one. Thankfully, I kept on the plan during the first part of the day, thereby not being too hungry when I went to the BBQ. I made sure to eat a small plate of food while I was there and left feeling great.
The food choices are surprisingly delicious. Being able to eat carbs and sweets keeps me satisfied and also helps me gain perspective on how much I should be eating of each food group without overdoing it.
Weigh in at the end of Week 2: 244 lbs. I lost another 4 pound this week! I feel great and thrilled at the results.
