Raise your hand if you have a picky eater! I DO I DO! Although compared to many of my friends, I feel that my girls do eat healthy and love their greens, but when it comes to meal time I feel that it is always a battle. My girls stick to the same foods, which are generally homemade organic chicken nuggets, whole grain pasta, and organic broccoli. Other things they might eat are spinach pies, home made pizza, and spinach ravioli. I know- it sounds like they eat well, but the truth is that’s ALL they eat! Having meals on the go for them can be super tricky, and we generally stick to snacks like nuts, fruits, crackers, and dry cereal.
You can probably tell that I try to feed my girls healthy foods and always opt for organic, natural, and minimally processed as much as possible. When I found out about Revolution Foods, I initially thought it was an over-processed, high sodium meal kit for kids, but when I looked closer I was surprised to see that they included ingredients I would actually feed my kids! Revolution Foods was founded by two moms who feel the same way I do about feeding their children: they opted for high quality ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Oh, and they understand the importance of foods having to TASTE good and be interesting enough for a child to want to try it. These are my kind of moms!
So, they came up with Revolution Foods which include meal kids in the following varieties: Hame and Cheddar, Turkey and Cheddar, Cheese Pizza, and Peanut Butter and Jelly. When it comes to meats, I’m really choosy about what my kids will eat and I’m happy to say the Turkey and Cheddar Meal Kit from Revolution Foods include meat that does not contain antibiotics in it! SCORE!
My girls are very different in their meal choices. My preschooler is super picky, while my toddler will try just about anything. My preschooler, who is 4 1/2 was instantly drawn to the Cheese Pizza Meal Kit, while my toddler (2 years old) loved the Peanut Butter and Jelly meal kit. They both loved that they can prepare their own meals, and the tasty sweet treat included in their meal boxes was motivation to eat every last bite. I love that they are all made with REAL ingredients and don’t have preservatives, food dyes, artificial flavors, or other ingredients on our no-no list.
We have a few upcoming trips and I’m hoping I can find Revolution Foods in our travels. You can check out the Revolution Foods Store Locator to find a store near you that carries this awesome brand. I found them at Target, but Safeway and Whole Foods, among other retailers carry them as well.
You can find out more about the moms behind Revolution Foods, as well as their product offerings by visiting Revolution Foods and following them on Facebook and Twitter. There is also a money saving coupon when you click this link.
I not only have a picky eater, but I have one highly allergic picky eater! Sheer madness! I like the kit idea. Kids have the tendency to eat foods that are in smaller portions, and made by their own hands.
We have a trip coming up, so I’m going to look for these to take in the car for my son. Thanks for sharing your review.
I like the idea of that pizza kit. Even I would enjoy that!
