My hubby always makes fun of me when I rave about appliances I love. He says "that's such a MOM answer- maybe I can get you a vacuum for Christmas!" What he doesn't realize is that yes, as a mom, appliances ARE important. They simplify my life. The right vacuum makes cleaning up easy. The perfect dishwasher will save me a backache from leaning over a sink. The best washer and dryer will save us money and clean clothes effectively. Appliances are ...

Back to School with HP!
Last weekend marked the end of summer, back to the old grind of hitting the books, making sure pencils are sharpened, and ink tanks are filled. My hubby and I are no exception. With college classes starting earlier than younger grades, we are back to routine before anyone else. We know too well what procrastination does; you know, when you are suppose to hand in a paper tomorrow but waited until now to print it, only to find out that you ran out ...
Summer fun with the 3M Mobile Projector #3MSummerFun
Have you ever had a party that lasted longer than you expected and you ended up with a bunch of kids who were beyond bored? This happens on a weekly basis. Whether we are home or at a friends or relatives house, the kids are playing great for a few hours and before you know it they are cranky, tired, and start to get on each other's nerves. It's easy to say "let's send them upstairs to watch a movie" but then there is no one to watch them while ...
Meet the iNotebook!
We are in the market for an iPad but I have so many questions, especially about how I will use it. My biggest problem is that although the iPad may be convenient in some instances, it really doesn't beat having a computer, especially in my situation where access to a keyboard is a must. Now that there are plenty of options out there as iPad add ons, I am getting closer to justifying this purchase and jumping on the iPad bandwagon. Another ...
Back to School with Contigo!
Back to school season is here and that means it's time to start thinking about innovative lunches and practical ways to transport food! My toddler is just like her mommy- she's a little uncoordinated and can be clumsy, so I have to make sure that anything I pack for her is easy to use and spill proof. A regular plastic water bottle just isn't an option because she will most likely spill her water, plus it leads to a lot of waste each year. Did ...
I’m a Chicago Cutlery Ambassador!
I'm very excited to announce that I am a Chicago Cutlery Ambassador! Once upon a time ago I was a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher where I also taught middle schoolers how to bake and cook. I truly enjoyed my job, but I was in no way a "professional." I had the skills necessary to teach students the basics about nutrition and kitchen basics. Knife skills were a big part of our cooking unit and while I was creating lesson plans for them, I ...
Getting Organized for Back to School Season With a Laminator!
I never realized how indispensable a laminator was until I was a teacher. I had access to a fancy laminator at work and I laminated EVERYTHING. From lesson plans, classroom decor, and even recipes for my students. I felt that laminating cut down the waste of having paper recipes for EACH student in each class. By laminating the recipes, I was able to keep one recipe card in the kitchens and students could wipe them down easy if they got dirty. ...
Summer Barbecues- Where do you put the kids to sit and eat?
With all the summer barbecues lined up and all our guests with their ever-growing families, finding a place to sit can sometimes be a problem. In the past 5 years, my hubby and I have had to add at least 2 seats a year to our outdoor collection because it seems we never have enough outdoor chairs. I joked with my husband that soon we are going to have a BYOC policy- bring your own chair! The kids are usually playing and don't generally sit ...
